Monalisa Smiles from US

The quint-essential poster boy of our university love & lyric, Suvakant Samal, is back to the centrestage after a "long hiatus". We spoke to eachother after a gap of ten years. His mobile ring tone (+919958261961) and his "About Me" description in Orkut rightly justify the enigma even today. We had a brief chat about our present scenario, the old flame-turned-NRI and our eternal quest Sara Rati Swati Swati , about the Turning Point and of course, the Bengaluru-based Jay Suria. I enquired whether his marriage was truly an arranged one and he about my poetry.

I was no less surprised to know that he is still playing cricket in the gallis of Noida and NCR region. More over, he is having the same quantum of fun of his erstwhile bachelorhood by successfully convincing his wife to not restrict him from certain activities which have been so dear to his heart over all these years.

I still remember him and his Monalisa mannequin that he not only kept in his room during PG days in Vanivihar, he applied a bindi of his favourite colour on the statue. For people in the know of things, it was some sort of poetic justice intended to fulfill his desire for his all-time
mal-fatuation.

Swati, tusi great ho!!
